The American Dream. Owning your own business, being your own boss, setting your own hours, taking time off whenever you want. It all sounds so wonderful, but is it really? Have you ever owned your own "brick and mortar" type business. I have, and I can tell you it is not all roses. I personally owned a small Italian food restaurant, and I never experienced any of the above perks. This was my main reason for trying to find a way to make an income online.
First off , let's talk about start up costs. Most anyone who begins a typical business, either has a large sum of money in the bank, or they take out a small business loan, or somehow procure a loan, because without a large amount of start up cash, your business will go nowhere. My small Italian food business for example , had so many underlying fees and costs that I did not anticipate that I was very quickly in the hole, as far as operating costs go. Menus to be designed and printed, advertising in penny savers, newspapers, circulars, etc... . Zoning issues, permits, parking, paying employees and putting back money for taxes. This is just barely scratching the surface of the many unforseen problems that everyone, and I do mean everyone faces when starting a brick and mortar business.
There is another huge problem, time. When you begin your business, you can tell every spare minute of your free time goodbye , and very much so in the restaurant business, you are married to your establishment. You are owner, bookkeeper, waiter, dishwasher, manager, complaints dept., product orderer, payroll, etc... . I think you see where I'm going with this, to make a success of your new business, that you also have a large amount of money invested in, you have now taken on a massive amount of priorities, not to mention a large amount of debt. Being your own boss in a traditional business isn't all that fun and pretty.
Now on the flipside, how about starting your own online business and trying to make your income online. Let me straight up tell you that the income can be far greater than a traditional business, If and only If , the person treats their online business the same way they would treat their brick and mortar business. A person should act as if they are starting a traditional business. They should act as though they have a large bank note out on their business, they should put in 6-8 hours a day , fine tuning their income online. A person needs to act as if it is their only shot at making it in business, they basically need to put forth the effort and time and determnation that they would put into their brick and mortar store.
Having said this, this is where 99.9% of all people fail with their online business, because they do not treat it like a business. What I believe is the biggest problem right out of the gate, is that people are told " Just pay your start up costs to get in, and the business is 98% automated ! Look at the top dogs pulling in six figures a month ! These people only work 2 hrs. a day and look at their income." Yes there are probably two or three individuals out of thousands that are actually make that type of income online in that given online business, but they are obviously not the norm. These couple of people pulling in that type of money treated it like a real business. They got up early and worked late into the evening, they set schedules and stuck to them. These few individuals invested a good amount of back office money into, auto-responders, magazine ads, online courses aimed at their business, pay per click ad campaigns, upgrading computer equipement, and so on. Simply put , to make a substantial income online, a person has to know they are going to have to invest a lot of time , and some above and beyond money, into their business. The average person doesn't get told this upfront and when they see all the time and work that is involved , they usually(99.9%) , say " Ah so what, I've only got $200 into this program, I'll just quit now before I get in any deeper and spend any more money." That person then usually a month or so later, sees something else that promise to be easier and do all the work for them, and then away they go again, chasing that elusive income online that we all want.
In closing, just because an online business only costs $49, or $149, or $500, doesnt mean that you can't make an impressive income online with it , it simply means that you are going to have to roll up your sleeves and get to doing some serious work. It can be done , but a person just needs to be told the truth up front that no business is automated. There is no magic button out there that will make you an income online , that button is called good ole fashiond hard work, and yes , working on a computer , building a business for 10 hours a day is work. As the old saying goes, If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.
Hello, my name is Troy Mullins, and I am a firm believer that there is no "magic button" to making an income online. The magic button is work and training. If a person is taught properly, then they can do anything. Education and Training is the key, period.
